Ron Huntington, Owner of Executive Mentors & Trainers and a Senior Consultant to Management with EMT, has over 30 years of Entrepreneurial Business Development, Ownership and General Management, and Executive Coaching and Consulting experience.
He is one of the original Coaches for The Rockefeller Habits, Gazelles, and the Scaling Up Processes, and was certified in both the Rockefeller Habits and the Scaling Up Processes in the period 2000-2018. He resuscitated and built the then-dormant Gazelles International Coaching Program in its 3rd Evolution from 2003 to 2008, serving as its President and Head Coach, when he then handed the reins over to his hand-picked successor as President, Keith Cupp; Ron subsequently served as Emeritus Head Coach and Core Advisor to Gazelles International from 2008 to 2018. Ron?s vast management experience started with the Restaurant industry. He began his management career with Restaurants Unlimited in Seattle, a nationally-regarded multiunit, full-service restaurant company, where he attained the position of Senior General Manager. He then became the Owner/President of the Pacific Rim Restaurant Group Inc., a full-service restaurant company with 210 employees in 3 locations in Alaska. This is where he acquired a large measure of his initial start-up and entrepreneurial experience.
After Ron left the restaurant industry in 1987, he became an Investment Consultant with Merrill Lynch in Alaska. He was responsible for the marketing of Merrill Lynch?s investment products & services and was SEC Series-7 and Series-63 licensed. He also built a unique Scallop Fisheries business in Alaska, home-ported out of Homer and Dutch Harbor, Alaska. The Fishery?s 150-foot vessel served as a Command Ship for the Exxon Valdez Clean-up in Alaska?s Prince William Sound from 1989 through 1992.
After returning to Seattle in the late 1980?s, he served as a Managing Director for The Pacific Institute, responsible for both the Transportation-Industry Marketing Group and the Market Development Division. The Pacific Institute, in Seattle, is known for its personal growth education programs conducted by the late Lou Tice.
His exposure to personal growth education, coupled with his considerable business knowledge and experience, led him to become a Staff and Senior Consultant with Management Action Programs, Inc. (MAP) in 1991. During his 7-year tenure, MAP was a 125 person, 37-year-old employee-owned firm engaged in General Management Development & Consulting, advising clients who wished to improve profitability and the effective performance of their organizations. While with MAP, Ron was a Top-Rated Senior Consultant, always sustaining Client Satisfaction Ratings among the Top 3 rated Senior Consultants in each quarterly ratings period during his rated tenure.
In early 1998, Ron left MAP to form his own General Business Management Consulting Company, which is Executive Mentors & Trainers. This bold move allowed him to do what he loves and does well: Market, Sell, and Deliver proven General Business Management Coaching, Mentoring, Consulting, and Training Services, through an experienced, independent voice. He is a Certified Consultant for Birkman International, Inc., in the proprietary Birkman Methods, having received Birkman Advanced Certification in April of 1999. Ron was certified as a Presenter and Facilitator of the Gazelles Rockefeller Habits and the Scaling Up Processes, the Gazelles Executive Development Programs and The Pacific Institute?s Investment in Excellence Programs. He is also certified in the proprietary ?4 Decisions? processes for – and a Founding Member Colleague of – Gravitas Impact Premium Coaches. Additionally, in 2018 Ron was trained in the Metronome Growth Systems and Shannon Susko?s revolutionary 3HAG Strategic Thinking and Execution Planning Processes, and in early 2019 will complete his full Certification in these proprietary Planning Processes.
A licensed and experienced Private Pilot, Ron enjoys travel, aviation, auto racing, computer technology, History, Military History, reading, movies, film music, and maintaining the quality and appearance of his home and yard in Seattle. He is married to Evie, his wife of 29 years, and has a son, Nick, who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, is also a graduate of the University of Washington, and is in the Computer Gaming Industry in Seattle. Ron is also now the proud grandparent of a 2-Year Old Grandson.
